Jon went skating for the first time with his new "training" skates. These are a few of the pictures taken. He did amazingly well. At first, he was holding both of Daddy's hands. Then, just one hand. After that, Jon was off! He fell down a couple of times, but seemed to think that it was all part of the fun! One time, he even got up by himself!

A couple of weekends ago, we went back to the stock show. Jon was really wanting to see the animals, and we promised to go back. We were glad we did. Jon had a blast! We gave him a choice as to how we'd get there. Either the light-rail train again, or the bus. Jon chose the bus this time. That just added to the level of fun!

All over the rodeo, there were these giant boots that different neighboring towns decorated. This one was a tile mosiac. It was our favorite!

A farmer noticed Jon admiring his cows, and asked if Jon wanted to pet one of them. We thought that was such a sweet gesture!

They had bumper cars that were just Jon's size. He knew exactly which ride he wanted to go on! He would have gone again & again if it didn't have such a long line!

Jon had a great birthday party. He had lots of kids there, some of them were siblings. All of them had a great time! They played, ate pizza, ate cake, then went home exhausted! There's just not enough time during these parties to open presents there. It worked out better for Jon though. There were too many for Jon to open in front of his friends.
Somehow, some of the pictures loaded a bit out of order, but you still get a pretty good idea. The last group of pictures, with Jon unwrapping, are completely reversed. I'll get the hang of it!

Jon loved hearing everyone sing "Happy Birthday!" This is actually the first time that he has really enjoyed it. Jon had a lot of friends come to his party.

We pretty much celebrated Jon's birthday all weekend long!

Jon got his first "big boy" bike! He still hasn't got the hang of peddling it yet. It's very different than his tricycle. He'll get it!

We all went to the Houston Rodeo together. Charlie had gotten tickets for a private party for the cook-off. We parked in the museum district & took the light-rail train there. Jon loved it! The animals weren't there yet, but the rides sure were! Jon decided that he needed to go on them all by himself.
