For our second time out in the trailer, we went to McKinney Falls S.P. in Austin. It was beautiful!

This is the inside of the trailer. We had just finished getting it set up, so things weren't that organized in there yet. Also, we realized that I need my own door, so Charlie moved the ac over to put a door there. First thing out was the bike!
This was kind of cool to watch. It's a cricket laying eggs. Jon sat there for quite a while with us, watching it. It would periodically move, to put more in another location.
Jon took a stick, and dried moss to make a tree. He came up to us very proudly to show us. We still have it!
Our first outing was to an area called lower falls. It was incredible. We were able to climb over to a rock by one of the falls.
Isn't that a gorgeous site? I just love the expression on Jon's face.
I surprised the boys with a new set of water guns.
Jon got tuckered out. He cuddled with Mommy, eating dried peas.
A new way to play with the Tonka truck!
After lunch, we went to another area to play.
We really enjoyed watching this heron fishing.

It turned out that we were super close to where we were in the morning! The lower falls are just past those bushes!
We passed a family that had found walking sticks. When Jon saw this, he just had to find one. Daddy found one for each of them.
We went to see the McKinney homestead. Jon worked very hard to sound out the words on the sign. He did an excellent job!
This is the rock shelter. Charlie is looking a a mass of daddy-long-legs that hang out there. There are bunched together and make for a rather creepy sight!

After this walk, we headed for home. We all had a wonderful time, and can't wait for our next adventure!

NO MORE TRAINING WHEELS!!!

Jon decided that Mommy needed to take off the training wheels Saturday. After putting on the pads, he was off! We immediately went for a ride around the block. Jon's balance on the bike is amazing, especially considering the he is not going fast at all!

We are now working on Jon pushing off from the curb. This is a hard task for him, but he'll get it! Until then, we just have to make sure we're always there to help get him going again!

Well, I didn't expect Daddy to make the trailer today!

Jon helped to paint his new trailer.
It was agony for Jon to have to wait for the paint to dry before test driving it!
Jon got the sticker today from the soccer team manager. It was perfect for the trailer.
Jon had us all go for a walk around the block with his new trailer! He turned a few heads, and started a couple of converstions!

Meet the Dinos!
Jon was the team captain for the first game today. That means he got a sticker, and kicked the ball to start the game.
This expression says it all. Unfortunately, Jon had a headache, and the Tylenol hadn't kicked in yet. We got Jon on the field long enough to be goalie for one rotation.
Jon threw the ball out. He was pretty happy to do that part!
We're hoping that Jon will start getting to know his team, and feel better about playing with them.

Also, even though the team is the Dinos, Jon will always be a Bronco when he wears that uniform!

One little note about the thumb in the mouth. As hard as we have tried to get Jon to stop, he will occasionally stick that thumb in when he's upset or tired. We are determined to get it out completely before his permanent teeth come.
Jon car update!

Jon's car just seems to get better & better! It recently acquired an antenna. Plus, Jon has been asking for a "circle."

When Mommy's van got a hitch, Jon started pointing out that it had a circle. After figuring out that the circle is how we tow the zebra trailer, he decided that he needed to have one too!

Well, Daddy figured out how to put a circle on Jon's car! Don't be too surprised if the next picture is of Jon towing a trailer!

For Easter weekend, we took our new trailer to Galveston Island State Park.

While waiting for our camp site to empty, we played on the beach.
Jon rode around while we got settled. Watch out for flying shells!

Just a few minutes of chillin' with Daddy, before heading back out to play.
Jon rode that bike all over the beach!Sometimes, he'd forget to take the helmet off before running out into the water! He didn't seem to mind!Mommy got the helmet off for him. Watching Jon play. After all that playing, Jon falls asleep with Daddy. It started getting windy, so we headed back to camp. Jon was still asleep, so we pulled out something for him to lay down on. He had to be woken up for dinner.
He didn't really wake up, though! Yup. He's eating while mostly asleep! After dinner, we got Jon to wake up with an evening stroll. When we got back, it was dark enough to try out the lights. Jon thought they were pretty cool! Daddy & Jon had a blast out there!

Writing in the sand.
It's hard to see, but Jon wrote "Jonster". He was so proud!

Daddy found a barnacle that would stick it's mouth out once in a while. After looking at it for a little bit, it went back into the water.

We found a cool looking lady bug. Jon thought it was fun to have it crawl on his hand. Here's our camp during daylight.

Jon managed to really get the hammock swinging!
We went for a walk in another part of the state park. This was going up to an observation tower.

I followed this bee to get just the right shot!
I came upon this sweet scene after taking pictures of the flowers. The splash in the background is a bird diving for a fish. The two of them were talking about the bird at that same moment!
Easter morning arrived, and it was just too cold and windy to hunt for eggs at the beach. Jon didn't mind. He looked all around the camp site for eggs!

Next month, we will be heading to a state park in Austin!
