Jon thought that we should all head out to the YMCA today for a swim. We decided to ride our bikes there. Turns out, it's only 10 miles round trip! Jon had so much fun! He did go in the pool, but there weren't any pictures taken. It was so crowded, you wouldn't have been able to find us in the pictures!
Jon finally got brave enough to stand under the buckets. This was not the last time he ventured over there! Every time the water landed on him, he ran off laughing!

It took some coaxing to get Jon to walk through the fountain to get in the middle. It was worth it, though!

Time for Daddy elbow!

I finally found a granola bar that Jon likes. Leave it to Jon to only like Kashi brand granola! At first he would only eat the crunchy ones, but now will eat the soft bars too. Taking a rest between play times. After this snuggle, he was back in action. However, when Jon was done, he let us know that it was time to get back in the trailer!

Jon & I have a new song we like to sing now. It's our own version of a classic. "It's fun to play at the YMCA! They've got everything for a Jonster to enjoy, you can hang out with all your friends! It's fun to play at the YMCA!"
I think he has a new favorite hang out!

My boys have a new game they like to play. Jon grabs hold of Daddy's foot, and goes flying! Jon lets Daddy know to lift off by saying, "ready, set, GO!" Of course, Jon reminds Daddy when it's time to ride the other leg! It wouldn't do to use one leg more than the other, after all!

Before Jon's last game, he decided that his car needed to be cleaned. Good thing too. A couple of hours after our game, major storms came through and wiped out any chances of games being played. And to think, if he hadn't thought to get that car cleaned then, it would have been dirty the rest of the weekend!

Jon was the Team Captain for this game. He was happy to kick off at the start of the game. After that, he didn't really do much. Later, we figured out that he was starting to get an ear infection, so that may have played a part.

And he kicks!

Last week, the day care had a performer/educator come do a show for the kids. He brings several performing birds, and talks about the choices we make. It was a wonderful show that had everyone's attention. When I say everyone, that includes 18 month olds, up through 11 year olds! That just doesn't happen very often! He even had the adults riveted. This bird loves to hang upside down! We were all supposed to be ignoring it, but I couldn't help taking a picture! It was too cute!

This was the finally, of course! Talk about getting the kids excited!

After the show, all of the kids got to hug Precious. Jon loved that part! Plus, each parent had the choice of having their child get a picture taken with Precious (for a price.) I went ahead and let Jon. I was glad I did, his expression in the photo is priceless! I haven't had a chance to scan it into the computer, but I'll be sure to post it when I do.

These are a couple of pictures from the soccer party we had. In both of them, you can see how "thrilled" Jon is. Part of this is because of something that had happened right before we handed out trophies. Jon had found a car there at Chuck E Cheese. He was thrilled with this find, until it's rightful (I assumed) owner saw it & claimed it. Needless to say, Jon's mood went down hill fast! The parents all were asking me that night if it would be possible to keep the team together for the fall season. I had to break it to them that FFPS doesn't believe in doing that. It's more fair for the kids, and they make more friends. It does look like I might be coaching again in the fall. It was fun, and Jon did enjoy it. Everyone seemed to think I did a good job, and I'll know more going into it.

Jon went to the YMCA for the first time today! We just joined up this last week, now that Jon is old enough to enjoy it. We didn't drop him off at the kid's room yet. He got to play in the splash area while we took turns working out. Jon had such a blast!

Take a look at how low Jon's swimming trunks are in this shot!

Whoops!

We found a beautiful park last weekend! It's hilly, and has lots of trees! It parallels the bayou, and has plenty of benches to stop and enjoy the surroundings. This was a turtle that we saw on our journey. We didn't let Jon get out of the trailer, since it wouldn't be much fun if it snapped at him!

Jon's Graduation!

Jon had his Pre-Kindergarten graduation last Thursday. All of the kids were so proud of themselves!

This was the bear that Jon chose to bring for the week. They got to sleep with their bears during nap each day. All of the bears were there to help during graduation!

The teachers traced each child, and drew out was was on their shirts. The kids then colored themselves. This is Jon's!
Jon right after walking in.
Jon getting his graduation certificate and a graduation bear.

Jon was so excited, he was jumping up & down, causing his pants to fall down! Ms. April helped him pull them back up!

After the ceremony, Jon gave Ms. Laurie & Ms. April flowers.

Jon with his best friend, Julianna. I love this picture, with the teachers looking at these 2 friends with smiles on their faces. You can't help but smile when you see the affection they have for each other!

Jon did a fabulous job at the soccer game Saturday morning! First, he blocked a ball when he was goalie! All of the parents cheered as if he had made a goal! Then, one of his team mates taking his turn as goalie would throw the ball to Jon every time. (I didn't tell him to do that!) Jon felt like a part of the team, and was out there running with the other kids, trying to get the ball! He had the biggest smile on his face! It was the best 4 minutes of the game! Next week, I'll make sure we have the camera!
These pictures were taken Saturday afternoon, an absolutely gorgeous day! We didn't want to spend any time inside!
Jon is driving his car like the low-rider from the parade. He "driving like that!"

Check out them boots! And hardly a cloud in the sky!
The keys are so massive, it helps to use the lanyard! Plus, it's more fun!

We went for a drive, and came across this beautiful field of yellow flowers! They were too tall for Jon to stand in, so I held him for pictures.

Jon decided that this bath needed some shaving cream! The tub needed cleaning there anyway! It got all of the bath crayon markings.

This last Saturday, we took Jon to the annual Art Car Parade. Jon was in heaven! So many silly cars! There are a lot of pictures on this post, and very few with Jon. Some of the cars are funny, and some are jaw-dropping. And to think, I only got pictures of a few of them! Before the parade, we got to walk by the cars, take pictures, and talk to the artists. That was everyone's favorite part. It just got too darn hot by the time the parade actually started, so we ended leaving. There was one car that we didn't see up close, but got a shot as we were heading out. That would be the zebra car.

Try to zoom in to read some of the stuff on his truck!

Read before moving on to the next one.

This one is gaudy as all get-out, but it's incredible how it's made with Mardi Gras beads!

This was one of Jon's favorites. Probably because it looks like a normal car! Plus, he was cracking up over the bouncing. Now, he looks at this picture, and says "he was driving like that!"

This was one of several wooden cars by the same artist, however this one photographed the best.

The paint job on this one is amazing!
By the way, you will sometimes see people driving their art cars around town thoughout the year! Not the totally outrageous ones, but the painted cars. Somehow, we have yet to see the zebra car driving around!
