Last Sunday, we did something that I never thought we'd do. We took Jon to a LowRider car show! (The things that we do for our kids!) I gotta say though, it was fun. There is an incredible amount of pride in these cars, and most of them are works of art. Jon was in heaven!

This car would be "driving like that". It's called "3 wheelin'"
Notice the little version 3 wheelin'! I'm not even sure what to say about this one!
Notice how happy Charlie is! The reason Jon looks so overwhelmed is because of how noisy their display was. That speaker in the background was blaring scenes from the movie they are promoting. (Based on those scenes shown, it's guaranteed to be an absolutely horrible, violent movie, by the way!)
After looking at the cars, we went to watch the hopping contest. Jon has been watching clips of this on YouTube for the past few weeks, so we knew he'd love it! With the trucks that are this high up, they alway run the risk of tipping backwards, and not landing back on their tires. They want it to go as high as possible, while still landing on it's own. All of the cars in this contest are really just full size remote control cars!
The MC had commented that the pretty cars don't hop as high, because the owners don't want them torn apart. Then, this car came out & proved him wrong! The cars really do get all torn up, though. We saw bumpers fall off, axles break, metal was flying everywhere on some of them! There was a clean up crew on the side, always ready to sweep up debri.

This was the "dancing" contest. By far, Jon's favorite, although the shortest part of the show. Those are sparks coming off the car, and it was on fire by the time he stopped. Even on fire, the guy didn't stop the car's dancing! I guess it's worth it for the chance to move on to the next round at a different city.
This was a dancing truck.

After that, we went to look at the lowrider bicycles and kid's cars. Hey, I think I want a Kermit The Frog bike!
The kid's cars showed some real sense of humor, and there were quite a few that are for little girls! I didn't get very many, as my camera was running low on power by then.

I thought this was one of the coolest vehicles there!

All in all, it was a fun day at the car show! We expected to hear loud, yucky music, but it wasn't like that at all. Only some of the vendors had super loud music, but we just avoided them. Even during the hopping contest, the music wasn't bad. We were very pleasantly surprised!

These are just a few misc. pictures taken over the past 2 weeks.

Jon likes eating his Cheerios in his bus!
We went to a birthday party at a Chuck E Cheese we had never been to. It was much nicer than the one by our house! They had 2 cars there that Jon loved.
Jon especially loved this car! He was laughing about "driving like that" and "driving just like the car parade!"
The bandaids on his arm have nothing to do with any boo-boos. He got ahold of the bandaids again. He also found some of my old jewelry, which is why he is wearing a heart locket. (It was a cheapy clearance piece from 10 years ago, so I didn't mind!)

Our "Grape Dracula". These super silly teeth were in the party treat bag. Jon was having fun trying to talk with them in his mouth!

I was taking something up to the front room one day, when I happened to see Jon concentrating on these toys. I ran to get my camera, and managed to get this shot of him lining up the animals. I was spotted right after the picture was taken, and he told me about the parade of animals.

We went to Ikea during their big sale, and they had a clown with balloons. Jon told the clown that he wanted a hat. She had him pick out the colors. Then, she decided that he needed a sword to go with it. He proudly wore his hat all through Ikea. Until we got to the kid's area with the slide, that is.

Our Dapper Dude!

On Sunday night, we all decided to go out for dinner. Jon was dressed in his pj's at the time. Daddy told him to put his shoes on. Jon said "No, I need a new shirt." We tried to tell him that it was okay to go in pj's, but he wanted a new shirt. I found one he usually likes to wear. "No. I need a new shirt." So, I sent Jon to his room to find a shirt. He picked out a nice dress shirt. Then, I showed him a couple pairs of pants that matched. He said "no", and proceeded to pick out his own pants. Once the socks where put on, he knew exactly which shoes MUST be worn with this outfit. After that, he pulled out his tie.
Needless to say, Daddy & I felt very under dressed for this dinner! Jon looked so good, and was so proud of the outfit he picked out, I had to take a picture! (I'm sure that comes as a total and complete shock to no one!)
The dinner wasn't so great, but our beautiful son sure looked great! Isn't that what counts?!?

Jon loves his new sprinkler! Last weekend, he didn't want to come inside!
The next pictures are from this weekend.

Jon shows off a worm he found.

Jon figured out how cool his transporter truck is that he got for Christmas. It holds a bunch of cars!

Jon is taking his "Mommy's van" into the sprinkler.

Jon picks his first home grown tomatoes.

They are super yummy!

Jon figured out how to make his bubble machine create bigger bubbles by turning it off & on at the right times.
Jon had turned around at one point, and I laughed at him having a bubble on his butt. He then tried to get more bubbles on it! I guess you could call this picture "bubble butt!"

Jon's big day with Julianna!

We met up with Julianna and her mom at a place called Old MacDonald's Farm. It was a bit of a drive, but it was well worth it. They had a bunch of different activities that kept the kids busy all morning.

It was up to the parents to lead the ponies. The nice thing about this is that you can go around as many times as you want!

Apparently, the ponies were pretty thirsty. Neither of them wanted to walk away from the watering hole!

Mommy got a turn at leading Jon.

The deer were still hanging out under the trees when we got there. About 10 minutes later, they realised that there were people with food to steal!

Julianna insisted on being the one to push Jon on the horse swing!

They had a "fort" play ground. The kids were a bit intimidated by this bridge at first, but quickly got over it!

This was the first time either of these two had ever been allowed to ride a train without an adult! Julianna was so intent on taking care of Jon, we knew they'd be just fine!

The next time around, we all went together!

Yet another play ground to play on. They had about 4 or 5 spread throughout.

Walking through a tunnel.

Mommy walking back to the group.

Giving the camera a smooch! Is this what Jon sees when I go to give him a kiss?!?

Julianna gets a volleyball lesson from her mom.

A sweet moment between friends!
Tree roots make for marvelous bumps to drive trucks over! This, by the way, was not Jon's Tonka Truck. This place had several of them for kids to play with in the sand pile. Jon just had it traveling around their property!

It doesn't get much cuter than this!
